Note: This route can only be done in the period from 16.05. - 15.09., cause a part of the Turfroute (Opsterlandsche Compangnonsvaart) is incorporated in this trip.

After the briefing on Friday afternoon or on Monday afternoon you will leave our harbor at "De Nauwe Greuns" in Leeuwarden, your first sail a little on the Van Harinxmakanaal, here you can get in touch on this wide canal with the boat.
At channel km 24 you leave the Van Harinxmakanal and take the "Harlinger Vaart" towards the center of Leeuwarden. After several bridges you reach the Prinsentuin, where you can spend in a beautiful park the first night. The center of Leeuwarden there are a few minutes walk.

The next day (Do not start too late) you go north along Dokkum eastwards. In Dokkumer Nieuwe Zijlen you pass the lock and reach the Lauwersmeer, enjoy the nature and tranquility, spend the night in Zoutkamp, a former seaport.

Across the Reitdiep through beautiful narrow waters you reach Groningen, the capital of the province. In this student city there is plenty to do and to see, the third place for the night. The following day, the destination is Assen (main city of Drenthe), via "de Vaart" you can reach the city center and stay there in the marina centrally.

Small waters, a section of the Turfroute, brings you to Gorredijk, a typical village of peat colony on both sides of the channel, which leads today as wel through the center, now the unofficial capital of Turfroute, here you will spend the fifth night.
Akkrum, a very popular place for water sports enthusiasts, is the destination on this day. It offers good accommodations, great infrastructure.

Last day it leads direction north, on the Sneekermeer, past Grou along the "Standing Mast Route" back to our base, where you spend the last night of your cruise.
